What it does:
All 25 areas can be purchased (per default only 9 out of 25 can be purchased). The last Milestone (13) adds the permission to buy 17 new areas instead of one. So you have to reach that to unlock all areas, it does not work from the beginning, as Milestones 1-12 are unchanged.
Installation:
To install just subscribe to the mod. To activate it select it from the Mod-Menu within the Content Manager (Inhaltsverwaltung). Restarting Skylines may be required, but you do >not< have to start a new city! There is a mod which does the same and even has a similar description? Which mod to use?
There is a similar mod which was put on the workshop a few days before mine. It came without the sourcecode and for weeks without a proper description what it does, so I decided to publish mine too. At some point the other mod author finally decided to update his mod description to explain what the mod does in detail There was a slight difference in the source, but it has the same effect. So feel free to choose which one to use.Files / Source Location:
If you are looking for the dll and / or C# script, it should be here: <Path to Steam>\SteamApps\workshop\content\255710\405810376
If you don“t trust the dll, you could delete it and compile from source. To do that move the source file to the mod folder so it looks like this
On Windows
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Addons\Mods\MaxArea\Source\MaxArea.cs
On Mac
/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Colossal Order/Cities_Skylines/Addons/Mods/MaxArea/Source/MaxArea.cs
On Linux
/home/<username>/.local/share/Colossal Order/Cities_Skylines/Addons/Mods/MaxArea/Source/MaxArea.cs
It should compile when starting Skylines. Please be aware that you should be sure what you are doing when messing with dlls and sourcefiles, so you do not mess up your system!
Reefer to https://skylines.paradoxwikis.com/Developer_guides for more information.
Some additional notes / FAQs:
- Using more than 9 tiles is neither tested regarding stability nor supported by the game developer (also not by me! :))
- Achievements are disabled if you use any mod (there is however a Mod online which can enable achievements)
- The sourcecode is VERY simple, effectively it is only one line of code, how to do it is very well documented in the API wiki, so it is no secret and extremely easy to code
- Does not require the UnlockAll Mod, but can be combined with it
- Sourcecode is included
Compatibility
The mod might currently be flagged as incompatible, although it still works technically.I tried to publish an updated version, but it has not yet been published by Steam (Mods are checked before they are published).
If the mod does not seem to work for you, please keep in mind, that you need unlock the last milestone, you can NOT purchase them from the beginning. (if this was the case for you before I assume you used an additional mod to allow that).
Some other things:
My mod may be the most simple out there, other people did far greater things :) ... go and have a look around in the Workshop!Something else I made just for fun:
