There's something about the shape of this interchange that makes me giggle. I don't know what it is, but it looks awesome anyway! Windmill Interchanges seem to be completely forgotten by the world; I've honestly never seen one that still exist. Wikipedia linked me to one in the US, but that one seemed to have been downgraded into a at-grade intersection. The only one I know of that has existed was Knooppunt Vaanplein in Rotterdam, but that one's gotten some serious rework, and doesn't even slightly resemble a windmill anymore. It's a shame, really, that the symbol of the Netherlands hasn't been immortalized into asphalt... Just a joke... No, I'm not saying the Netherlands only has windmills and canals everywhere! What I meant to say was... Forget it, I'll just shut up now.
2.0 UPDATE - The windmill has been overhauled to have a more efficiant design. I felt like the old design was a bit sloppy in some sections, so the entire thing now have parallell ramp collectors for all sides. Still looks great, though, in my opinion ;)
=====================================================================
Advantages:
+ No weaving
+ Low height makes it easier to place on rough terrain
Disadvantages:
- It's pretty large, taking up valueable space
- Moderately difficult to retro-fit
- Sharp ramps means less speed

The Windmill Interchange, also known as turbine's little brother, for more than one reason... Well, I sure suck at road jokes!
